Hello everyone,
Just a had a conversation with someone at work about what to do for lunch today, and I thought...we have the same discussion every day!
So I want to know what other people do for lunch in Richmond? There's so many business people here and clearly other people would have the same problem!
Our regulars iunclude:
Momotaro Japanese on Bridge Road (Yap Yap)
Victoria Gardens Food court (not by choice)
Flow on Victoria Street
Keith's Pies on Church Street
Where are your regular lunch haunts?

New York Tomato - Cnr of New and York street, Richmond has damn fine coffee and the menu caters for all tastes.
Vegie Nirvana is a great spot also on Bridge Road near Burnely Street

Leelee are you a vego? I don't think I could ever do that, I need my hamburgers and greasy goods :) Richmond has some very good coffee places I have to agree with you on that one. If you ever get a chance go to Vic Gardens and enjoy an all natural coffee at the Organics food shop almost up near coles. I know Zoewolf can vouch for me on this one!
melbournefan, yes I love The Grand! I have been there with a couple of blokes from work and it was great, very nice Fish n Chips.

Sorry, I know it's not really related; but I've just moved to Richmond and was wondering which Vietnamese restaurants on Victoria Street people would recommend? There are so many to choose from that I don't know where to start! My folks are coming down this weekend and I wanted to take them to a nice one.

No am not a vegie, although I am partial to the odd vegie dish but I love a good wagyu steak or a peppered porterhouse, goats cheese mash and red onion jam!
I love a cup of java so will go with your recommendation of trying the all natural coffee and Organics food shop!

I always visit this thread at about this time of day :) Something to do with my stomach rumbling!!
Mahone how'd you go with your parents on taking them to lunch? Victoria Street is a gold mine of delicious food that most of the time is very very cheap. Tai Tai is personal fav of mine as well, you can't go wrong there. Also try Chimmy's on Bridge Road. It's actually really nice. Here's a pic I took for you:

Leelee you wont regret the coffee from the all natural place, it's great! Goat's Cheese mash?! Sounds "interesting" :) WIll have to give it a try. Where do you get that from?

Thanks for the recommendations AJ. I took then to Binh Minh in the end at it's really near where I live and the food is pretty decent. We also went to a nice Italian place on Swan St for dinner.........then I ended up going to a great Thai place on Sunday called Ving Thai. It was a weekend of food!
Whereabouts is the place for coffee taht you mention above?

hey mahone, no probs on the recommendations. Sounds like you had a great weekend with the family, full of food. Time to hit the gym :)
The organic shop I am talking about is in Victoria Gardens down the Coles Supermarket end. It's just next to the sushi place I think. Anyways, they sell really good organic food, and I like the coffee there much more than other places in the Shopping Center.

Hey AJ,
I think the organic place you mentioned is called Plough to Platter? I am still yet to get a cup of java from there!
I tried goats cheese mash in Southbank at The Deck restaurant, great views of Flinders Street and looking back to Fed Sq.
Has anyone tried the food and drink at Maedaya on Bridge Rd which is a Sake Bar and grill? Walking pas last Friday night the place was packed.

I haven't been to eat on Southbank in a while actually. I used to love it down there in summer because I used to work around the corner, we always went to a place called Bear Brass (we called it Bare Ass).
Haven't been to Maedaya on Bridge Road, sounds nice though. I find it hard to go past Montezuma's Mexican on Bridge, I'm a sucker for it every time!!
