My wife and I absolutely adore where we live. Gladstone St is so close to everything, I catch the ferry to work each day across arguably the best harbour in the world. Darling St is walking distance so we get everything we need for shops, cafes (we love Boheme), pubs (The London), you name it. Schools, parks, younger neighbours who we regularly catch up with (make sure you like to be neighbourly otherwise you might not like it). are all part of the lifestyle. Ok, it's not inexpensive but when you consider how close this is to the city we're happy with out decision. (and investment).

I live in very nearby Fawcett St, I'm only renting but property is generally in the high 900k or millions I think - not cheap but as balmainb points out its proximity to the city makes it worth it in our opinions!
